Congratulations to West Richland! West Richland took 12th place in the Washington Safewise Safest City report. It was previously ranked 23rd. That’s quite a jump! West Richland resides in Benton County which was ranked third best county to own a home. And you only have to look at the motto on West Richland’s website to see why, “Better Together: Dreaming Bigger for a Brighter Future.”
The reports state, “Cities across Washington are coming together to create inclusive communities that embrace all citizens of different ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds. These initiatives work to establish communities “without boundaries where people take care of each other regardless of their differences.” Having an inclusive city helps people to feel safe. It will naturally draw people to the area that are of the same mindset.

As far as the state of Washington, according to their report, Washington comes in seventeenth for violent crimes and forty-seventh for property crime across the nation. Washington did win Top Business State 2017. So things aren’t all that bad.
