Are you feeling the itch for a vacation? After this last winter, I think we all are. If you are looking to “get away from it all” then you will want to vacation at the Olympic National Forest this year.
The Olympic National Park made the list for Washington’s as the main ‘alternate attraction’ to go visit for a vacation that isn’t a tourist trap. They even have a great site to help plan your trip including making reservations, camping, maps, hiking, things to do and more.
If you aren’t able to make the trip in person, then you can virtually tour the Olympics through one of their four webcams: Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent,
From the Tri-Cities it is about a 6 hour easy drive. There are tolls if you come back down through Tacoma, so be prepared for that. You can also take a Ferry and see the sites on the deck by taking the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. The ferry has an easy to read schedule online to plan around. You’ll want to arrive early so you don’t have to worry about getting on. That ferry can fill up fast. It is a beautiful drive and the ride on the ferry makes for a relaxing break from the car.
Summer is right around the corner, we hope, so start planning your summer vacation now. It’s never too early!
